  1. I not much of a yoga person but I never really gave it a try and my opinion might change if I do. My girlfriend on the other hand is and she has been wanting a good Yoga mat so coming across this site has helped make a decision on which one I should get.

However, now that I have come across your site my list has grown… Now I will not only be getting her a mat but a towel, socks, yoga block and bag. Is there anything else I should get for someone into yoga but is still kind of a beginner?

  2. Thanks so much for listing the equipment for a beginner yoga practice. Recently I decided to start practicing Yoga with my mom in the home, because we don’t feel to sign in some Yoga classes yet. I want to ask about yoga towel. Is there a need to buy a specific Yoga towel? We don’t use towel and just run to the bath to wash ourselves. Thank you.

    • Hello Alblue,

Thank You for the comments. Happy to hear you are doing yoga. A normal towel from your home will be fine at first. If later you try a yoga class in a studio maybe buy a specialised towel.

      Regards Shane.

  3. This is really cool. With all the stress and obstacles we go through in our lives, it is easy to let your mind slip into a pattern of negative thinking. I know because this is exactly what happened to me and it not only affected me but also the people close to me as well. But I finally realize that I was only hurting myself in the long run and I am now trying to change my ways. I read that yoga is a great way to get the body and mind in shape so I am going to start doing that. But the only thing is that I don’t know the first thing about Yoga which is why that I am glad i came across your article. Exactly what I needed. Great article, definitely going to check some of this gear out and share this on my Facebook.

  4. As I advance in age I have begun to think about non-traumatic exercises such as yoga. Your views of the subject have renewed my interest. I like how you start off with the 7 yoga essential and follow-up with a comprehensive table of contents that allows one to click into various related and interesting topics. You did a great job of explaining how important the mat is, its costs, care and keeping it in proper condition so that it helps your stay properly aligned. You also well-explained considerations related to the towel, water bottle, yoga block, and strap. Your links to Amazon were all well placed. Do you recommend doing yoga daily? If so, is there a particular time of day you would suggest?

Your writeup has spurred me into action and I plan to begin yoga by purchasing items from your site. I’m fortunate to have run across your information. I intend to benefit from it.

    Thank you for enlightening me.

    God bless you!
