Reiki

Nothing to do but rest

A gentle Japanese energy practice. You lie comfortably and fully clothed while the practitioner works lightly on or just above the body. Non-invasive, and it asks nothing of you — not even belief.

What it is

Gentle, and entirely passive

You lie down fully clothed. The practitioner places their hands lightly on, or just above, the body — encouraging the kind of relaxation that is hard to reach on purpose. There is no manipulation and no pressure.

People come to unwind stress that has settled in, to quiet a mind that will not stop, and to feel steadier. It sits well alongside yoga and meditation, and many people pair it with a sound healing session.

You do not have to believe in it. You have to lie down.

Questions people actually ask

What does it feel like?

Most people describe warmth, a faint tingling or a gentle heaviness as the mind quietens. You stay fully clothed throughout.

Do I have to believe in it for it to work?

No. You rest and receive. A good number of sceptical first-timers are surprised by how relaxed they feel afterwards, and that is a perfectly good reason to come.

Is it safe?

It is gentle and non-invasive, which makes it suitable for most people. Tell us when you book if you are pregnant or have any health condition — it changes how we run the session rather than ruling it out.

How long is a session, and what does it cost?

Around an hour. Rates depend on whether you want a single session or a series, so message us and we will tell you plainly.
