Yoga Therapy

Built for one body. Yours

Posture, breath and relaxation used as precise tools rather than a general class — for back pain, stiffness, stress, difficult breathing and recovery from injury. It begins with an assessment, not a prescription.

How it works

Assessed first, then designed

Your first session is an assessment: your history, your symptoms, what you want to be able to do again. Nothing is prescribed before that conversation, because a practice built for somebody else's back is of no use to yours.

From there the practice is built for your body and adjusted over time as it responds. You leave with something you can keep doing at home, which is where most of the change actually happens.

A general class asks your body to meet the practice. This asks the practice to meet your body.

What happens

Three steps

01

Assessment

02

Your practice

A therapeutic sequence designed for your body and your condition.

03

Practise and adjust

We work through it together and refine it as you progress.

Questions people actually ask

Is this a replacement for medical treatment?

No. It is a complement, and we work alongside your medical care rather than instead of it. Keep your doctor informed, and keep whatever treatment you are already on.

What can it actually help with?

Most commonly back and joint pain, stiffness, stress, anxiety, breathing difficulty and recovery from injury. Tell us your situation and we will say honestly whether we think we can help — including when we think we cannot.

Is it one to one, or a class?

One to one. The whole session is built around your body, which is the point of it.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on you and on the issue, and anyone who answers that before assessing you is guessing. Many people benefit from a short series. We will give you a realistic picture after the first session.

Tell us what hurts

Describe what you are dealing with and how long it has been going on. We will tell you whether this is the right thing for it.
